Saint George's Outreach Committee helps those in need locally and around the world. Outreach for the homeless in our area. We are crocheting sleeping mats out of plastic shopping bags. No experience is necessary to get involved in this ministry. Our mats insulate against cold and dampness, are lightweight and portable.
A charitable outreach center providing food, clothing, educational and emergency assistance to those residents in need in the Livingston, Oakland and Washtenaw counties. We collect non-perishable foods to deliver monthly.
Work together on skill building to depolarize the community. Meets on the 4th Tuesday of the month at 6:30-8:00pm. Braverangels.org
Knitting/Crochet for Charity
This group meets on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month (except holiday weeks). All are welcome – we even have a knitting teacher in our midst, to show you how!
Donations of warm outerware and boots will be provided to HAVEN in Pontiac which is an organization that supports families who are surviving domestic abuse.
Crossroads is a social service outreach agency in Detroit. Each Sunday afternoon they serve a hot meal to those in need. Saint George's volunteers to prepare and serve this meal one time per year. We typically feed over 600 people.
Volunteers are ALWAYS needed for this event.
LOK is a group of women who meet for fellowship and fun. They meet 8-10 times per year, usually in the evenings. Past activities have included dinner out, potlucks, shows and painting pottery. Each year one or two outreach projects are selected that benefit our community. We welcome ALL women whether you are a member, occasional attendee or visitor to Saint George's.
Our Men's Group meets once per month on the 3rd Wednesday or Thursday of the month. All men are invited to join! They typically meet at the church or at a parishioners home.
The men have put on a Mother's Day breakfast, purchased items for the church and participated in charity based golf outings.
