OUR PRAY IT FORWARD PROGRAM

Throughout the Lenten season, our special project has been “Pray It Forward”, based on the movie “Pay it Forward.” Even though Lent is over, our "Pray it Forward" program is continuing!  To appreciate the depth in our effort, you need to see this film.   You are  welcome to borrow the “Pay it Forward” DVD which is available in the church office.

We hope you’ve picked up your four St. George’s coins, kept one for yourself, and chosen three people in need for which to pray.  As you’ve given a coin to each of them, we hope you’ve remembered to ask them to “Pray it Forward” to three others, and reminded them to ask their friends to “Pray It Forward” too.  Through the generosity of others, the coins continue to be available here at church on Sunday mornings and through the parish office.  This is such a special way to proclaim the Gospel and to spread the news about our church!

PLEASE SHARE YOUR EXPERIENCES with "Pray it Forward" and the giving of your tokens by e-mailing them to us at stgeomilford@hotmail.com so that we can publish them here. Thank you!

Shared Experiences

Was at St. Mary's on Sunday doing my presentation for Organs for Life and a man came up to me and shared  that many years ago now his father passed away and his father had willed his eyes, his corneas, to someone if they needed them for transplant.  The doctors decided to use them and gave them to a 30 and some year old man and the surgery was successful and gave him back his sight.  The fellow receiving the transplant now still writes this man every year on the anniversary of this miracle to offer thanks for his father's special gift!  Almost ten percent of men and women suffering from blindness have a corneal condition where implants can help them to see again.  What a special way to Pray and Pay It Forward!

Faithfully,
